vacation Washington style…

My brother moved to lovely Bellingham, Washington last year. I went from seeing him and my sis-in-law, nephew and niece  two to three times a week to none.  I went through withdrawals! My family is pretty tight-knit. It felt like I had an appendage removed. Needless to say I missed them terribly. A trek to the Pacific Northwest was in order and finally came to fruition this week. Two of my kids and I made the trip arriving to Seattle on Tuesday. After hugging my SIL and niece to death we headed to the Seattle Market…

Look at this produce!!! Beautiful. Em bought a plumot. She reported the plum/apricot hybrid to be delish.

If you are any kind of foodie and watch Food Network, you have no doubt seen the fish throwers at Pike’s Place Fish Market. I didn’t get a shot of them in action. I was a bit to slow with the phone cam. It’s pretty fun to just watch the guys in action. The crowd really gets into it. Me included.

Because I am a coffee girl we had to go to the original Starbucks. SWEET!

My lovely niece.

My lovely niece. We had to stop and take a selfie while in line.

There's always a line at Starbucks. Always.

My SIL and I found a French Bakery. We took home Pain au Chocolat for a sweet treat. I’m in heaven.

Le Panier was fabulous. I was in transported to France for a moment. It was hard to choose just one delectable treat. I make tarts for dessert at home. After seeing the offerings here I think I’m going to up my game.

Beautiful berry and rhubarb tarts. Oh my!

All I needed was a wine and cheese and I'd have had an impromptu picnic.

What a great start to our vacation!
